The Department of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is conducting an evaluation of the Employment Insurance (EI) Family caregiver benefits and the Compassionate care benefits. We are kindly asking you to set aside 10 – 15 minutes to complete this short survey. The survey will remain open from June to October 2026.
We are seeking your feedback on the requirement for a medical doctor or nurse practitioner to fill out a medical certificate for a patient who is critically ill or injured or in need of end-of-life care. A medical certificate, completed by a medical doctor/nurse practitioner, must be submitted to support a caregiver’s application for EI Family caregiver benefits (SC INS5242B) or EI Compassionate care benefits (SC INS5216B). These EI benefits provide eligible caregivers financial assistance while they are away from work providing care or support to a child or adult family member.
Your participation is voluntary, and you may stop at any time.
Please share this invitation: We rely on your help to forward this email to your Medical Doctor/Nurse Practitioner colleagues as many times as convenient. This is a snowball survey (referral) sampling approach.
