Exam Security
The Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) is a high stakes assessment that is an important part of the entry-to-practice registration process. At the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of PEI (CLPNPEI), the safety of the public is our top priority. As a result, all scores and results from the CPNRE will be independently assessed by an external and specialized examination security company using various well-researched data forensic techniques. The purpose of this analysis is to identify candidates who have examination results that are unreliable or invalid due to any form of suspected irregular behaviour such as examination misconduct. These scores and results will be flagged for additional investigation in order to determine their reliability or validity. If scores, or results are deemed to be invalid, a range of actions will be taken by CLPNPEI including cancellation of results and/or referral to the CLPNPEI Investigation Committee for professional misconduct.
Apply to CLPNPEI for eligibility to write the CPNRE:
The CLPNPEI has a process in place for exam candidates to apply for exam eligibility and pay the appropriate fees prior to the relevant writing window. Applicants are required to upload a government issued photo id and proof of their legal name into the application form.
- Signup on the Member Portal to create a profile and complete the CPNRE eligibility application.
- Payment of the exam fee ($600) is required before application can be submitted.
Eligibility granted to write the CPNRE:
Once applicants are granted eligibility to write the CPNRE, CLPNPEI notifies Meazure Learning of the exam candidate’s name and email address. Meazure Learning emails exam candidates directly with detailed information on booking an exam appointment and testing computer requirements. Please note that CLPNPEI staff do not have access to your Meazure Learning account. Any changes to the scheduling of your exam appointment need to be completed through your Meazure Learning account or by contacting Meazure Learning directly.
